Sweeping the power poll rankings with four first-place votes in Week 12 and putting a 45-6 beat down on the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football wasn’t enough to remind 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Ron Wolfley of the juggernaut that the Baltimore Ravens have been this season.
The Ravens failed to crack Wolfley’s top-5 power poll this week — admittedly by mistake — as two NFC West foes placements in the rankings dominated most of the discussion.
Wolfley and co-host Paul Calvisi each presented their arguments on who should be ranked ahead between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.
While Calvisi argued that the head-to-head, overtime loss suffered by the 49ers at home against Seattle should vault the Seahawks ahead in the poll, Wolfley contended that a better record and more promising future outlook for the 49ers should keep San Francisco ahead.
Both had the Seahawks and 49ers in the No. 3 and No. 4 spot in the rankings.
Flanking the two NFC West squads with power poll recognition were the New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers, while the aforementioned Ravens were ranked first by Calvisi.
Here’s a full look at each of the individual Doug & Wolf power poll rankings for Week 13.
