After winning his first 3-point contest at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game, Devin Booker is back looking for his second win and Phoenix Suns legend Steve Nash thinks the 23-year-old guard can accomplish that.

“Beautiful technique, stroke, range,” Nash said of Booker on Inside the NBA on Friday night.

“The guy’s got one of the best strokes in the game.”

If anybody knows something about making the 3-point shot, it’s Nash. During his 18-year NBA career – 10-years spent with the Phoenix Suns – Nash made 1,685 baskets from beyond the arch, good for 23rd all-time.

Booker will take on Davis Bertans (Washington Wizards), Devonte’ Graham (Charlotte Hornets), Joe Harris (Brooklyn Nets), Buddy Hield (Sacramento Kings), Zach LaVine (Chicago Bulls), Duncan Robinson (Miami Heat) and Trae Young (Atlanta Hawks).

He wasn’t originally on the list to compete in the 3-point contest, and in the All-Star Game as well.

Booker replaced Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard as a reserve for the game and as a contestant in the 3-point contest due to a groin injury.

Even though Booker competed in the 3-point contest back in 2018, this will be his first NBA All-Star Game selection.

With an NBA All-Star Game selection and prior 3-point contest victory under his belt, Nash says Booker should be relaxed.

“I almost feel like it’s house money,” Nash said.

If Booker were to win his second, he would join Larry Bird, Craig Hodges, Mark Price, Jeff Hornacek, Peja Stojakovic and Jason Kapono with multiple 3-point contest victories since the competition began in 1986.

The 3-point contest begins at 7 p.m. on TNT.
