Arizona Cardinals players appear to be assembling Wednesday outside of Dallas at Allen High School, quarterback Kyler Murray’s alma mater.

Backup quarterback Brett Hundley and rookie running back Eno Benjamin posted images of Allen’s football complex to their Instagram stories on Wednesday. Hundley seemed impressed by the stadium, which opened in 2012 and cost approximately $60 million to construct.

“I mean its iight…” the quarterback wrote.

Murray reportedly invited and paid for 20 of his offensive teammates to join him near his home as they begin building camaraderie for the 2020 season. While many of the skill position players on that side of the ball return, the trip to the Dallas area is possibly most important because the second-year quarterback and his new No. 1 receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, have a relationship and on-field cohesion to build.

Hopkins’ Instagram story earlier in the week included a video of him driving into the Dallas area.

In some form, a private gathering appears to be taking place after the NFL Players Association’s medical director, Dr. Thom Mayer, advised players not to conduct private workouts amid rising coronavirus numbers in some states.

“Please be advised that it is our consensus medical opinion that in light of the increase in COVID-19 cases in certain states that no players should be engaged in practicing together in private workouts,” Mayer said in a Saturday statement.

As is the case in Arizona, coronavirus cases have spiked this week in Texas. Allen’s county, Collin County, set a record high of cases recorded in a day on Sunday with 125.

According to NBC Sports’ Mike Florio, the Cardinals players already “planned to be cognizant of physical-distancing requirements while working out and all related events.”

However the Cardinals meet, it’ll be the first time the offensive players gather in a large group since coronavirus concerns forced official team meetings to take place in a virtual setting. Arizona’s veterans finished up those meetings earlier this month.

“It’ll be the first time we actually came together as a unit since everything kind of unfolded before OTAs started,” Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake told Good Morning Football on NFL Network last week. “So I think it’ll be good camaraderie for all of us to come together, and Kyler was gracious enough to invite everybody out there, you know, big money Kyler.”

Murray paid for his teammates to join him at his high school in Allen, Texas, according to Florio. That took more than $40,000 out of the quarterback’s pocket as he planned workout sessions and off-the-field activities such as bowling and Top Golf, added Florio.
