D-backs recall Vasquez, option Mickolio

The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled right-handed pitcher Esmerling Vasquez from Triple-A Reno and optioned right-handed pitcher Kam Mickolio to Reno, according to D-backs’ GM Kevin Towers.
Mickolio came in the sixth inning of Tuesday night’s game against the Cardinals and only lasted 0.2 innings and was charged with three runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts. He posted a 9.00 ERA through four games this season with the D-backs.
Vasquez is 4-9 with a 4.81 ERA over parts of two seasons with the club and has the second-highest total appearances among D-backs relief pitchers since 2009. The right-hander tossed a scoreless inning while collecting a strikeout in his only appearance with Reno on Monday.
