Inside the Box: Hudson, Roberts silence Padres

May 8, 2011, 2:09 AM | Updated: 3:54 am

After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s
time to go Inside the Box for April 27, 2011: Diamondbacks 6, Padres 0

The Good:

What a night for Daniel Hudson. The young ace has been shaky, especially early on in the game as of late, but he didn’t allow the five hits the Padres managed to shake him. Ryan Roberts also had three hits and was key in the D-backs offense.

The Bad:

Shortstop Stephen Drew, who has been at the heart of both the defense and offense this season, left the game with groin tightness in the fourth inning. Hopefully it’s nothing major and he returns soon.

The Funky:

Hudson’s night could be a sign of things to come. He threw his third career game of 7.0 or more scoreless innings.
