After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s
time to go Inside the Box for May 14, 2011: Diamondbacks 1, Dodgers 0

The Arizona Diamondbacks snapped a five-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the bigger story was Josh Collmenter throwing six shutout innings in his first Major League start.

Collmenter only allowed two hits with no walks as he dominated the Dodger bats.

Arizona didn’t do much offensively only getting one hit, a double by Stephen Drew, but it was enough for the win thanks to Collmenter and the bullpen.

J.J. Putz struggled to close out the game in the ninth inning, but managed to keep his perfect mark intact.

Putz is now eight-for-eight in save chances this season.
