Chemistry leads to improved Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks won 65 games last season. They’ve won 43 this season.

And there’s still 82 games left to play.

Kirk Gibson, an improved bullpen, fewer strikeouts and better starting pitching are all factors, but one thing that cannot be overlooked is improved team chemistry.

“Everybody didn’t click like they do now, for some reason,” D-backs outfielder Chris Young told Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf Tuesday. “It makes a difference when you’re out there battling with each other, to know that the pitching staff has your back and vice versa.

“I don’t know why it makes a difference, but it definitely does and we’re playing better baseball because of it.”

Of course, it’s kind of a chicken and the egg type of thing. Is the team winning because of better chemistry or is there better chemistry because they are winning? Frankly, it doesn’t matter.
