The Arizona Diamondbacks’ roster took another step toward completion on Wednesday, as the team tendered contracts to three arbitration-eligible players.

The final three players that were tendered were pitchers Caleb Smith and Luke Weaver, as well as catcher Carson Kelly, all of whom are arbitration eligible.

The team announced in a release that they tendered contracts to everyone on their 40-man roster, including 23 pitchers, 10 infielders, four outfielders and three catchers.

The D-backs previously designated relief pitchers Junior Guerra and Joel Payamps for assignment in November.

The Diamondbacks, like all 30 MLB franchises, had until Wednesday to tender contracts to pre-arbitration and arbitration-eligible players, with those that are non-tendered becoming free agents immediately.

Both Smith and Weaver are coming off disparate seasons, with Smith putting up a 2.45 ERA in four appearances, while Weaver went 1-9 in 12 starts with an ERA of 6.58.

Kelly hit .221 with five home runs and 19 RBIs in 39 games behind the plate for the D-backs this season.

All three have until late February to accept their contract or to go through arbitration protocols, where they will go in front of a panel to decide upon a contract for the 2021 season.

Spring training for the D-backs and other MLB clubs begins on Feb. 27 with Opening Day slated for April 1.
