Wildcats’ Dalen Terry couldn’t talk to Arizona players as ASU ball boy

Arizona Wildcats freshman guard Dalen Terry is no stranger to the Territorial Cup rivalry.
In fact, the Tempe native found himself in the thick of things before he even began high school.
That’s because Terry used to be a ball boy for the Arizona State Sun Devils when he was younger, the guard told reporters on Wednesday.
The freshman’s fondest memory of that time was in February 2014, when ASU’s Jahii Carson followed up a Jordan Bachysnki block with a dunk with less than a second remaining in a 69-66, double-overtime win for the Sun Devils over the Wildcats.

“I know Jahii and Carrick Felix, so when I was younger, I was a ball boy and I’d go into the locker room after the game,” Terry said of his most memorable game as an ASU ball boy.
“But I also remember being a ball boy for ASU and still wanting to talk to the Arizona players and they were not allowing me to.”
Terry went to high school at Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix after starting his prep career at Tempe’s Corona Del Sol High School. He said that he watched former Wildcats Nick Johnson, Allonzo Trier, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Aaron Gordon and Deandre Ayton growing up in Arizona.
In two games against ASU this season, both wins, the freshman guard averaged 12.5 points and two blocks.
