D-backs manager Gibson: ‘Reality of it is nobody knows’

The Arizona Diamondbacks won 94 games and the NL West last
season.
Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson won the 2011 NL Manager
of
the Year award.
And you know what? None of it matters now.
“The reality of it is nobody knows who’s going to win,
that’s why we play every year,” Gibson told Arizona Sports
620’s Burns and Gambo Tuesday.
This goes along with the theme Gibson has run with this
entire spring, that the team must not assume they’ll be
fine
this season just because they were good last year.
“We feel good about ourselves; we do have some confidence
from what we accomplished last year,” he said. “But we’re
going to have to get down and do what we do.
“We’re going to have to be hungry, relentless, very
dedicated to our goals and we have to stick together just
like we did last year because the tough times will happen,
they’re going to come, and there are going to be many
people pushing panic buttons. We can’t be one of those
people.”
