The injury bug continues to bite the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Catcher Miguel Montero exited Monday night’s game against the Dodgers due to a mild left groin strain.
Montero tweaked the groin when chasing after a pop foul ball behind home plate in the top of the sixth inning.
“I didn’t feel any pop, thank God,” Montero told reporters after the game. “It was just kind of crampy. It’s still early in the season, you don’t want it to get worse.
“They worked on it, loosened it up a bit. There was a knot in there, it was tight. It feels better.”
Henry Blanco pinch hit for Montero in the bottom of the frame and assumed the catching duties for the remainder of the game.
Montero was 0-for-2 Monday and is hitting .255 with two home runs and 21 RBIs on the season.
The D-backs listed Montero as day-to-day.
