Trevor Bauer to play in All-Star Futures Game

Diamondbacks prospect Trevor Bauer will get a chance to show
off his stuff for the entire country, albeit still not in a
major league game.
The top prospect is one of two Diamondbacks farmhands who
will play in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which will
be played the July 8th, which is the Sunday before the MLB
All-Star Game.
The game pits the U.S. Team against the World Team, which
Bauer on the former and Double-A prospect Alfredo Marte on
the latter.
Bauer is currently pitching for Triple-A Reno, where he has
compiled a 4-0 record to go along with a 2.79 ERA. He’s
struck out 51 batters in 42 innings of work, while walking
20 and allowing 40 hits.
Marte, a center fielder, is hitting .283 with 13 home runs
and 45 RBI in 62 games.
