The Arizona Diamondbacks re-assigned third baseman Matt Davidson, outfielder Braden Bishop and catcher Juan Graterol to minor-league camp, the team announced on Sunday.

The three moves leave 34 players remaining in major-league camp, including those on the injured list. Teams can keep 28 players on the roster in April to account for the shortened spring training.

Davidson was Arizona’s first-round pick in 2009, and he played 31 games for the organization in 2013. The D-backs traded him after the 2013 season to the Chicago White Sox for relief pitcher Addison Reed.

He played for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City last season before finding his way back to D-backs camp this year. Manager Torey Lovullo said during the first week of spring training that Davidson was in the mix for Arizona’s third base job.

The 31-year-old has hit .148 with a home run in 27 at bats during spring training.

Bishop played 47 games for the Seattle Mariners from 2019-21 before signing with Arizona this past offseason. The 2015 third-round pick has hit .217 in 12 spring training games with the D-backs.

Graterol, 33, has not played in MLB since 2019, although he hit .293 in Triple-A last year.

Arizona also optioned pitchers Tyler Gilbert and Taylor Widener to Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
