Another day, another strong debut from a young Diamondback.

A clubhouse filled with new faces welcomed Drey Jameson to the majors this week. He made his debut against the Padres, with seven scoreless innings.

If you feel like you’ve heard this story before, it’s because you have. Ryne Nelson also threw seven scoreless innings in his debut a little over a week ago. The Padres were the victims in that game too.

In fact, new D-backs pitchers seem to have a thing for carving up San Diego. Remember when Tyler Gilbert made his magical debut last summer? He tossed a no-hitter in his first-ever MLB game… against the Padres.

With so many young arms making starts, it’s hard not to feel some sense of excitement for the future. Plus, Zac Gallen is breaking records and Merrill Kelly is as solid as they come.

A few rotation spots could be open for next season.

In this week’s “Ain’t No Fang Podcast,” Steve Zinsmeister and Cody Fincher take a glimpse into the future at what the pitching staff might look like in the years to come.
