The NFL announced on Sunday that popstar Rihanna will perform at halftime of Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Feb. 12.

Despite rumors swirling that Taylor Swift may headline one of the biggest performances of each year, the NFL put that to rest on Sunday.

The NFL, Rihanna and Apple Music posted the picture of the singer holding a football for the announcement.

Rihanna, the Roc Nation artist, will be the first to perform with the new sponsor, Apple Music. Roc Nation entered a partnership with the NFL in 2019 and will be the strategic entertainment advisor for the performance.

“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn. A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment,” Roc Nation’s Jay-Z said in a release.

Rihanna has not released an album since “ANTI” in 2016 but has been teasing new music recently.

The singer and global icon originally declined to perform in the 2019 Super Bowl halftime performance to show support of quarterback Collin Kaepernick.

Last season’s halftime performance at SoFi stadium in Los Angeles was a hit that featured Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and 50 Cent. It drew 120 million viewers and earned three Emmys.
