The Phoenix Suns lost to the San Antonio Spurs, 123-103, in preseason action on Wednesday, dropping their preseason record to 1-3.
The Suns did not play their top players, as Devin Booker, Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, Miles Bridges, Oso Ighodaro and Collin Gillespie got some rest ahead of the regular-season opener in one week.
For Booker and Bridges, this marks the second preseason game in a row in which they did not suit up. San Antonio played all of its typical starters, including star center Victor Wembanyama.
Forward Ryan Dunn had the standout Suns performance, finishing with 15 points while being a perfect 6-for-6 from the field. He added two rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Dunn applied pressure at the rim all night long, as he continues to vie for a more carved-out role in head coach Jordan Ott’s rotation.

Guard Jamaree Bouyea contributed 15 points, as well, while also leading the game with eight assists. Rookie forward Koa Peat and guard Kennedy Chandler were the only other Suns in double figures, each finishing with 10 points.
Wembanyama finished as the game-high scorer (19 points), and Spurs guard Stephon Castle chipped in 18 points while constantly drawing fouls on Phoenix’s defense — he shot 14-for-15 from the free-throw line.
Suns guard Luke Kennard exited the game in the second quarter with an apparent injury after landing awkwardly on his leg and did not return.
This was the Suns’ fourth game of the 2026-27 preseason, with one more on Friday at home against the Utah Jazz before their regular season begins Oct. 21 on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers.
