A.J. Pollock steals a home run as D-backs beat Giants

Rubby De La Rosa threw a one-hitter in 5.2 innings and has thrown 15.2 scoreless innings in his last two games in the home of the San Francisco Giants.
Know that, then excuse us for side-stepping that storyline to put the microscope on what might be the play of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ season.
In the D-backs’ 2-0 shutout against the San Francisco Giants on Friday, centerfielder A.J. Pollock stole a home run from Jarrett Parker in the bottom of the eight inning.
The play allowed for reliever Daniel Hudson to wipe his brow and keep the combined one-hit effort from the Arizona pitching crew alive. Afterword, Hudson went to Twitter to state the very obvious.

Andrew Chafin, Randall Delgado and Brad Ziegler also came out of the bullpen to contribute. It was the first time the D-backs allowed one hit since Edwin Jackson threw a no-hitter against the Rays on June 25, 2010. The last time Arizona used combined performances to put together a no-hitter came Aug. 4, 2009, when Yusmeiro Petit (eight innings) and Leo Rosales (one inning) did so. Friday marked the 11th time the Diamondbacks tallied a one-hitter, and they can thank Pollock for adding that to the record books. By the way, Pollock, a first-time All-Star this year, extended his hitting streak to seven games with two hits and a run scored in the win over the Giants. That brings us to D-backs third baseman Jake Lamb, who summed it up quite nicely.
