The Arizona Diamondbacks entered Saturday’s game against the San Diego Padres without a win from their starting pitchers 11 games into the season.

They will now have to wait until game No. 13 after Shelby Miller left the game in the second inning with cuts on both knuckles of his right pointer finger.

Following a 1-2-3 first inning, Miller got into a jam in the second inning.

Melvin Upton Jr. hit a single and two batters later, Alexei Ramirez’s RBI single got by D-backs center fielder Socrates Brito and Ramirez advanced to third.

An intentional walk was followed by a five-pitch walk to opposing starting pitcher Andrew Cashner.

Miller followed the walk by looking at and shaking his hand. A mound visit was made by the trainer, which led to Miller throwing a couple of pitches and staying in the game with the bases loaded and two outs.

The 25-year-old got behind 3-0 to Jon Jay and had another visit from the dugout. This time, manager Chip Hale came out to the mound as well.

Miller stayed in the game once again and then walked Jay to bring in a second run for the Padres.

After the walk, Hale came out and pulled Miller for reliever Matt Buschmann.

Miller threw 50 pitches in 1.2 innings and gave up two earned runs, two hits and three walks. His ERA through three starts is 8.53.
