The Arizona Diamondbacks continue to look for fresh arms, and in doing so, selected left-handed pitcher Zac Curtis from Single-A Advanced Visalia. The team designated fellow left-hander Keith Hessler for assignment to accommodate the roster move.

Appearing in eight games for the Rawhide this season, Curtis is 1-0 with a 5.23 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings pitched. The 23-year-old has held left-handed batters to a .214 average with 10 strikeouts.

Last season at Single-A Kane County, Curtis had a 1.33 ERA with 33 saves and 75 strikeouts, en route to being named a Midwest League midseason All-Star.

Curtis was selected by the Diamondbacks in the sixth round of the 2014 draft out of Middle Tennessee State University.

Hessler, 27, had a 9.00 ERA in two appearances with Arizona.
