ASU kicker and Lou Groza Award winner Zane Gonzalez is one honor away from becoming a unanimous All-American.

The NCAA’s all-time leader with 96 career field goals and 494 points was named to the Football Writers Association of America and Associated Press All-American first teams on Monday, giving him seven first team honors so far. Four of those are under the designation needed to be considered a unanimous All-American.

Being named to the American Football Coaches Association First Team All-American squad would make Gonzalez the third ASU player named a unanimous All-American. He would join linebacker Terrell Suggs (2002) and defensive lineman Al Harris (1978).

Gonzalez went 7-for-9 on field goals of at least 50 yards this season, the second-most ever for an FBS kicker. His 59-yarder gave him  the all-time record for career points scored by a kicker.

Here are the first team accolades Gonzalez has racked up so far (* denotes All-America teams taken into account for unanimous and consensus All-America recognition).
