Phoenix Suns forward Miles Bridges exited the team’s preseason game against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday after going down with an injury early in the second quarter.
Bridges appeared to twist his ankle after colliding with Bulls guard Norman Powell while going after a loose ball. He got up on his own and continued to play, but exited the game and went to the locker room at the next dead ball.
Bridges did not return in the first half and was officially ruled out by the team as the second half got underway.

A newcomer to Phoenix this season as part of a trade involving Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale, Bridges’ arrival came with controversy because of his off-the-court history with domestic violence charges. In addition to Allen and O’Neale, the Suns gave up an unprotected 2033 first-round pick to acquire him.
Bridges showed promise in Phoenix’s first preseason game against the Detroit Pistons on Monday, finishing with eight points, five rebounds and four assists in 14 minutes of play (all during the first half).
Suns head coach Jordan Ott gave the starters a longer leash against Chicago — playing them into the third quarter — but seemed to be playing it safe with Bridges’ injury by keeping him out, assuming the injury is not more serious.
Bridges scored three points on an and-1 reverse layup to go along with a rebound and an assist in the eight minutes he played before he got injured.
Second-year forward Rasheer Fleming took his place in the opening lineup to begin the second half.
The Suns play three more preseason games before opening the regular season on Oct. 21 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
