The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that they have activated linebacker Deone Bucannon from the Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP).
Since being placed on the PUP since July 21, the Cardinals have had to work around the linebacker missing time, but head coach Bruce Arians mentioned Bucannon possibly returning this week.
“Yes. But that doesn’t mean he’ll practice,” Arians said Monday. “If we bring him off it will be so he can start doing walk-throughs.
Arians is hopeful Bucannon can begin practicing the last week of preseason.
The plan is for him to participate in the walk-thru, and eventually want him to get 7 to 10 practices in before the opener vs. Lions. https://t.co/hsymuHP200

“To be able to walk-through, get his eyes going, get his keys,” Arians said Tuesday. “From watching film and standing behind you don’t get that, that view of where he needs to be. He’s nowhere near ready but it’s a good beginning.”
The linebacker is a key defensive piece for the Cardinals, making 91 tackles last year and leading the team in 2015 with 112.

Can't wait to see Peterson, the Badger, Bucannon, & B. Baker all on the field at the same time.
Totally agree Heat.. This is huge... To me Dbuc is so important to our D!
And now he can get some reps in..
Dbuc, Los, and a rotating Reddick, are going to wreak havoc!
Yea boyy.. Time for Dbucccc!!
Love having a dollar backer.. And he plays beast every play!!
Los is back now too..To go with Reddick and Bynes..
Our ILB core will be so fast and smart in 17!!
Combine this with how the rest of our secondary has improved with the Badger gettin back to normal, Bathea taking TJs role, Bethel fully healthy, and Baker rotating in nickel and dime.. Awesome!!
Ive said it before, as much as the whole team laid an egg vs the Panthers in the NFCCG in 15, it did show a model.. That D was so, so fast..
And it was a huge reason they were so dominant..
To me our D resembles that model so closely..
Replacing Mint with Los is such an upgrade, even if it is for just a year or 2.. And yes Mint put up some stats, but they were never game changing..
Its all about making a play like a FF, an INT, or a PD that Los brings... Los will get those 100 tackles as expected, but he and Dbuc can guard TEs.. Where Mint couldn't..
Great news!!!
