What is the most important life lesson your dad passed down to you or that you try to pass down to your children?
My dad is still around and in great health, and I’m lucky to have him around. There’s a couple things that I do know come to mind that he used to tell me that I can’t share with you on the air, that are absolute classics, but it’s amazing how you do pass on things. I’ve got three girls, and they’re now 16, 14 and 12, so I’m in that emotional roller coaster time for a young girl. I’ve definitely passed along some things. My oldest one is driving right now, and my dad used to tell me — and to be absolutely honest, it’s a life and death situation when you get a young person behind the wheel — so my dad would say, ‘Put your head on a swivel’ and that just comes to my mind as you guys ask the question. So I’m in the car with my daughter the other day and I’m like, ‘Get your head on a swivel you’re going across the…’ and I sound just like my dad, unbelievable. That’s just one of the million things that my dad’s told me that I passed on to my three girls.
