Arizona Cardinals Season in Review: Tight Ends

Now that the Arizona Cardinals’ 2014 season is over, it’s time to reflect. Over the next ten days or so, we’ll look back at the Cardinals’ 11-win campaign, position by position.
The Arizona Cardinals had trouble with tight ends in 2014 — both their own and defending those from other teams. We’ll focus on the group of tight ends who wore red and white. This year, the combination of John Carlson, Rob Housler, Darren Fells and Troy Niklas had 50 catches for 588 yards and one touchdown in the regular season — the lowest positional totals for a Cardinals team since 2010 (25 catches, 210 yards, no touchdowns.)
To put that in perspective, there were 13 NFL tight ends who had more yards individually than the Cardinals’ crew amassed. Arizona ranked dead last in the NFL in touchdowns by tight ends the regular season.
