A year after going 69-93, the Arizona Diamondbacks begin the second half of the season on pace to win 96 games and eyeing their first playoff appearance since 2011.
The Diamondbacks come back from the All-Star break on Friday in Atlanta in second place in the National League West — 7.5 games behind division leaders the Los Angeles Dodgers.
However, they have a two-game lead over the Colorado Rockies for the top wild card spot and a 7.5-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the wild card standings.
According to FanGraphs, the Diamondbacks have a 86.9 percent chance of making the playoffs.
Despite the team’s success, some fans are still unsure what to make of the team, as Arizona Sports’ Derek Montilla found out at the D-back Nation All-Star Game viewing party.
