Toronto Blue Jays superstar dedicates game to young fan who passed away

Toronto Blue Jays superstar Jose Bautista paid tribute to a young fan who passed away tragically.

Nine-year-old Derek Lendosky, a huge Bautista supporter, was killed in an accident in Fennimore, WI, last Sunday.

On Wednesday, his father reached out to Bautista on Twitter, telling the Jays’ outfielder how much he meant to his late son.

Bautista responded to the tweet saying he’d play Friday’s game in honor of Derek’s memory.

The Blue Jays may have lost the game, but Bautista certainly delivered. He hit a home run and two doubles.

Bautista’s kind gesture didn’t go unnoticed by Mr. Lendosky, who thanked the Toronto slugger after the game.
