Top Chicago Cubs prospect goes above and beyond for a fan

Here’s hoping Kris Bryant is always this humble and down to earth.
Bryant, one of the top prospects in the Chicago Cubs farm system, hooked a fan up with a game-used bat. While on the surface that may not seem like a big deal, how it went down gives some insight into just what kind of person the 22-year-old third baseman is.
It all started when Mike Kennedy, a sports fan and memorabilia collector, noticed what was advertised as a game-used bat of Bryant’s on eBay for $850.
Before shelling out that kind of coin for the lumber, Kennedy smartly decided to try and verify that the bat was, in fact, game-used.
So he tweeted Bryant.
@KrisBryant_23 is there anyway I could DM u a link and you could tell me if this looks legit to you? Want to buy it if it was yours. Thanks

Bryant, who saw Kennedy’s question, responded.
@mk9577 you don't need to buy it! What do you want? I'll send it to you!

At that point Kennedy, who seemed taken aback by what was transpiring, provided more details.
@KrisBryant_23 it was a gu bat ha ha there expensive I wouldn't expect you to do that but I appreciate it. And want one for my pc

At that point, Bryant really stepped up to the plate.
@mk9577 850 bucks?! That's ridiculous! I'll send one to you. DM me your address!

And you know what? As this photo courtesy of the Chicago Sun Times shows, Bryant made good on his promise.
