The Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs may have been opponents during their game Sunday, but both teams were united in their support for Chiefs safety Eric Berry.

Berry was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma Monday. He was placed on the season-ending non-football illness list in late November after a mass was found in his chest.

Berry is beginning his treatment at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians came out on the field before the game wearing an Eric Berry t-shirt. The shirt read, “Be Bold. Be Brave. Be Berry,” and featured the safety’s number on the back.

Cardinals defensive tackles Alameda Ta’amu and Dan Williams also donned the shirt.

Arians himself is a cancer survivor, and became the interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts while Chuck Pagano battled the disease.

The shirt worn by the Cardinals is available for purchase from the Chiefs’ online store, with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
