Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici reportedly went out of his way recently to give two young fans a special gift.
ASU alum Joey Artigue tweeted a story he saw on Facebook, where the user said his wife’s friend and her two sons were eating at an Oregano’s bistro in the Valley and were seated near Bercovici and his family.
The user said Bercovici overheard the two boys talking about working up the courage to approach and talk to the ASU QB. So, the Sun Devil signal caller apparently ran out to his car, grabbed a pair of his cleats and then came back and signed them for the boys.
Nice to see that some sports stars are approachable after all.
Bercovici retweeted Artigue’s post on Twitter, so the ASU junior apparently isn’t disputing any of the story’s claims. And why would he? The gesture likely made the kids’ day, and it’s a good bit of publicity for the man who’s expected to become the new face of the Sun Devils offense this fall.
