Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Blaine Gabbert has agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans, the team announced Tuesday morning.
Gabbert, 28, played his seventh NFL season with the Cardinals in 2017 after spending three years each with the San Francisco 49ers and the Jacksonville Jaguars, the latter of whom drafted Gabbert 10th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Last season, after injuries to Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton, then-coach Bruce Arians started Gabbert for five games. In that stint, the Missouri alum completed 55.6 percent of his passes for 1,086 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions with a passer rating of 71.9.
He became a free agent at the season’s end.
Gabbert now joins a Titans team led by head coach Mike Vrabel that features quarterback Marcus Mariota. Last season, the Titans’ backup quarterback was Oklahoma State product Brandon Weeden.
