The Arizona Cardinals signed 22-year-old German Football League defensive tackle Moubarak Djeri on Wednesday.

“It was a big dream, and right now it’s life,” Djeri told AZCardinals.com. “I’m so excited to be here.”

The 6-foot-3, 275-pound native of Togo recorded 12 sacks, 40 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles for the Cologne Crocodiles last season.

Djeri was born in Togo and as an 11-year-old moved to Germany while taking part in a student-exchange program.

He joined the junior professional football team in Cologne when he was 18 years old. In 2014 and 2015, Djeri’s team reached the junior bowl championship game and won the title in 2014.
