D-backs call up pitcher Braden Shipley, option INF Christian Walker

The Arizona Diamondbacks are calling up right-handed pitcher Braden Shipley, the team announced Monday.
One of the D-backs’ highest-rated pitching prospects in the past couple of years, the 26-year-old Shipley has struggled to keep a hold on a D-backs roster spot in his MLB time.
In 23 appearances (14 starts), Shipley has a 5.40 ERA and a record of 4-6. He has not pitched for the D-backs this season.
With Triple-A Reno, Shipley has struggled for the second straight year. Following a 5.66 ERA in 19 starts last year, Shipley is 3-4 with a 6.48 ERA in 11 appearances (six starts) in 2018.
Infielder Christian Walker was assigned to the Aces. In 17 at-bats for Arizona, Walker has three hits, one home run and two RBI.
