After Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson reportedly requested a trade, reports indicate that at least two teams have an eye on him.
The Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints are a few teams that could have interest in the 28-year-old.
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports said on Twitter that the two teams have been trying to work out a deal.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Bryant McFadden, who is the cousin of Peterson, said the eight-year pro’s “ideal trade destination” is with the Saints.
Peterson has ties to Louisiana, where he played at LSU for three years before the Cardinals drafted him in 2011.
The Eagles are ranked 24th in pass defense, and the Saints are 28th.
Peterson has played in all 16 regular season games in each of his eight seasons with Arizona. His 23 career interceptions are the eighth-most in Cardinals franchise history.
His contract runs through 2020. He’s making $11 million this season.
