The Phoenix Suns announced Friday the signing of point guard Jawun Evans to a two-way contract after he played 14 games this year with the team’s G League affiliate, the Northern Arizona Suns.
The signing puts the Suns’ roster at 15 players as Evans joins guards Devin Booker, Jamal Crawford, Troy Daniels, De’Anthony Melton and Elie Okobo.
The Suns list Evans as a 6-foot, 190-pound guard who played in 48 games with the Clippers last season. With Los Angeles, he averaged 16.2 minutes per game with 4.8 points, 2.1 assists and 1.8 rebounds. He scored 15 points in a game on two separate occasions, adding five steals with six rebounds and six assists in one of those contests.
In Northern Arizona this year, Evans has led the G League Suns with 18.5 points per game and has averaged 4.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals.
The Oklahoma State alumnus scored 30 points in three consecutive games this year for the Northern Arizona Suns.
Evans will wear No. 0.
