A look at all the reported NFL Draft visits for ASU’s N’Keal Harry

Over the past three of years at Arizona State, receiver N’Keal Harry has proved his ability to turn heads by making countless spectacular plays on Saturdays.

Soon, he’ll get the chance to make them on Sundays.

In most NFL mock drafts, there seems to be an overall agreement among NFL analysts that Harry will be taken in either the late first or second round.

Harry has received some high praise among both NFL Network analysts and coaches over the past few months. ASU head coach Herm Edwards compared his physical makeup to Dez Bryant.

Here’s a look at all the teams Harry has reportedly met with so far:

Arizona Cardinals

Harry’s first reported visit was with the hometown Cardinals on April 1.

The visit came shortly after Harry’s public workout at Arizona State’s pro day. Harry is also expected to participate in a private workout with the Cardinals on Saturday, per ESPN’s John Weinfuss.

If the Cardinals were to pick Harry, they will be looking to improve a receiving core that finished last in the NFL in total receiving yards a year ago. With veteran Larry Fitzgerald returning for another year and Christian Kirk gearing up for his second full NFL season, the addition of Harry could provide another offensive option for new head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

“N’Keal Harry is a big man that can do a lot of different things for you,” Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said during a press conference on Tuesday. “One thing that excites me about him is his ability to run after the catch…as well as tracking and adjusting to the football down the field.”

With Harry predicted to go somewhere in the late first- or early second round, the Cardinals could consider selecting him with the first selection of the second round at 33rd overall.

Buffalo Bills

Harry’s next stop was reportedly a visit with the Buffalo Bills on April 8. The Bills are owners of a whopping 10 draft picks, including the Nos. 9 and 40 overall selections.

The team has an increased interest in adding a receiver to complement its 2018 first-round pick, quarterback Josh Allen. The Bills proved that interest when they were heavily involved in the Antonio Brown sweepstakes back in March. The team even appeared to have a done deal with the Steelers before it evidently fell through.

Buffalo finished last in the NFL in total receptions and its 3,082 receiving were good for second worst in the league. The Bills recently signed both Andre Roberts and Cole Beasley to help address this problem, but adding Harry would provide Allen with a dangerous third option.

New Orleans Saints

Continuing his tour of visits, Harry reportedly met with the 2018 NFC South champion Saints in early April, however, the team’s earliest pick is the No. 62 overall selection. With that being said, the Saints would most likely have to trade up the draft board to have a chance at taking Harry.

Other than Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, the Saints do not have a player on the roster that totaled over 500 receiving yards last season. The team tried to address this issue during the season with the signing of Dez Bryant, who tore his Achilles before playing a game.

If the Saints, who finished one game away from the Super Bowl, select Harry, they would be improving their current receiving core that failed to finish in the top 10 of the NFL in both total receiving yards and receiving yards per game last season.

Philadelphia Eagles

Also in early April, Harry reportedly paid a visit to the 2018 Super Bowl Champion Eagles. The Eagles are another team in the market for a receiver after recently losing Golden Tate when he signed with the New York Giants, leaving a big hole in their offense. The team is also relying on two aging receivers in Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson to carry most of the load when it comes to receiving.

The team would most likely not have to move its draft position to select Harry due to the fact it owns the 25th overall selection in the draft along with two second-round picks (No. 53 and 57).

New England Patriots

The defending Super Bowl champion Patriots were also a team reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero to have scheduled a pre-draft meeting with Harry in early April. By owning the last pick of the first round, the six-time Super Bowl champs currently fall right into Harry’s late first- and early second-round window.

The Patriots have also lost two key pieces of their receiving core this offseason, with tight end Rob Gronkowski retiring and receiver Chris Hogan signing with the Carolina Panthers.

While the team still has this year’s Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman, it recently filled one of its offensive holes with the signing of four-time pro bowler Demaryius Thomas. If the Patriots were to select Harry, the former ASU receiver could provide Tom Brady with a new 6-foot-4 weapon.

Denver Broncos

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Harry also scheduled a meeting with the Broncos some time in the last two weeks.

Over the past year, the Broncos have lost a good portion of their receiving core. After trading their No. 1 receiver Demaryius Thomas to the Houston Texans at last year’s deadline, receiver Jordan Taylor recently opened up another hole in the offense when he signed with the Minnesota Vikings.

Assuming they don’t select Harry with the 10th overall pick, the Broncos would need the former ASU receiver to fall pretty far on the draft board to be able to select him at 41st overall.

Detroit Lions

Tracing back to Calvin Johnson’s retirement, the Lions have struggled to find success in the passing game. Last year, the Lions finished 21st in the league in passing yards and 22nd in receiving touchdowns.

After trading Golden Tate mid-season, second-year receiver Kenny Golladay recorded his first 1,000 yard season and led the team in receiving touchdowns. If Harry were to end up in Detroit, he would be joining Golladay and recently-signed Danny Amendola in a completely restructured receiving core.

The Lions own nine picks in this year’s draft, including the eighth and 43rd overall picks. Assuming the Lions won’t select Harry with the eighth overall pick, Detroit is in the same position as Denver and will have to hope Harry slides down the draft board.

San Francisco 49ers

Harry reportedly traveled to Santa Clara, Calif., to make his official pre-draft visit with the 49ers on Monday.

This past season, the 49ers were forced to play the majority of the season without quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo after he tore his ACL in Week 3. With that being said, the team finished in the bottom half of the league in total receptions and receiving touchdowns. Selecting Harry could provide Garoppolo with a brand new target in what would be the young quarterback’s first full year in San Francisco.

The 49ers do currently own the No. 36 overall pick, which is around the spot most mock drafts have Harry being selecting.

Seattle Seahawks

Harry’s most recent reported meeting was with the Seahawks, who own the 21st overall selection but do not have a pick after that until the middle of the third round.

There is no doubt the pending decision about receiver Doug Baldwin’s future will influence whether or not the Seahawks will choose Harry as the 21st overall pick. Baldwin has undergone multiple surgeries to his back and shoulder this offseason and may be forced to retire due to his injuries.

Baldwin, 30, has accounted for a big portion of the Seattle offense over the past eight seasons. In 123 games with the Seahawks, Baldwin has totaled 493 catches, 6,536 receiving yards and 49 touchdowns. Taking into account their draft position and the potential loss of Baldwin, the Seahawks have emerged as one of more realistic situations for Harry.
