D-backs acquire catcher Blake Swihart from Red Sox

The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired catcher Blake Swihart from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for OF Marcus Wilson, the team announced Friday.
Arizona will also be receiving international bonus pool money for the 2018-19 signing period.
Swihart has played a plethora of positions in his five seasons in Boston.
The 27-year-old has spent time at catcher (129 games), left field (23), right field (14), first base (11), third base (3) and second base (1).
Swihart can be used at a variety of positions to help alleviate the D-backs’ injury woes this season, reports 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station‘s John Gambadoro.
Offensively, the former 26th overall pick has a career slash line of .255/.314/.365 to go along with nine home runs, 28 doubles and 58 RBIs.
Swihart has started his 2019 campaign with a slash line of .231/.310/.385 in only 26 at bats through 12 games this season.
The D-backs will be sending over 22-year-old Wilson, a speedy young outfielder that can flash the leather, but has also lacked offensive production (.209/.296/.319 against right-handers).
Wilson was drafted 69th overall by Arizona in the 2014 MLB Draft.
