Arizona Cardinals QB rumor mill heating up

There are more Arizona Cardinal quarterback rumors flying around right now than Mel Kiper Jr. hair jokes on Twitter.
On Thursday reports had Marc Bulger being a lock to line up under center for the Cards come this fall (or whenever the season actually begins). If they have an ‘understanding’ someone should inform the rest of the Internet.
According to the National Football Post, the Cards are interested in another former NFC West rival quarterback.
Another name is floating around out there, though. Sources have said the Cardinals are quietly hoping that they can make a run at Matt Hasselbeck in free agency. He will be 35 when the season begins, one year older than Bulger, and even though he had a rocky 2010 season, he performed well in the playoffs. Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt certainly knows him well having faced him two times per season in the NFC West.
Not to be outdone, another writer is suggesting head coach Ken Whisenhunt and the front office may still be in on the Kevin Kolb, Kyle Orton or Carson Palmer sweepstakes.
So what do we really know about the Cardinals plans? That Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker and Christian Ponder were never a part of them. Beyond that, your guess is probably as good as anyone else’s. Heck, maybe even better.
