By the numbers: D-backs 2B Ketel Marte’s hot streak after All-Star break

The Arizona Diamondbacks have had an up-and-down year 100 games through the regular season.

One of the bright spots on the season has been second baseman Ketel Marte and the breakout year he is having.

He was rewarded after being voted in by the fans to start at second base for the National League at the 2019 MLB All-Star game.

On the season, Marte has 21 home runs while batting .320 with a .952 OPS and 60 RBIs.

There have been nine games played since the All-Star game and Marte has continued where he left off.

But he’s been playing even better since he left Cleveland, raising his batting average by nine points and getting on base more often.

Here is Marte’s last nine games, by the numbers:


The amount of hits Marte has in the last nine games. He currently leads the NL in hits with 124. Atlanta Braves teammates Ronald Acuna Jr and Freddie Freeman are tied for second with 119.


Marte’s batting average with the 12 hits since the All-Star break. Currently, he is ranked fourth in the NL in batting average (.320) behind Jeff McNeil, Cody Bellinger and Christain Yelich.


Is the number of multi-hit games Marte has in this stretch. He leads the NL in multi-hit games this season with 41. Marte currently has a four-game multi-hit streak.


The amount of extra-base hits in nine games. Over half of his hits have been for extra bases. He has four doubles, two triples and a home run.


That is Marte’s OPS since the All-Star break. He had a .471 on-base percentage and .767 slugging percentage. He walked three times and was hit by a pitch once.


Is how many times Marte has reached base. In this nine-game span, Marte has reached based at least once every game. He is currently riding a 14-game on-base streak.
