D-backs’ Marte capitalizes on Parra’s miss for inside-the-park home run

Ketel Marte led off the third inning of Sunday’s game against the Washington Nationals with a bang.
Marte took full advantage of a four-seam 92 mph fastball off of former teammate Patrick Corbin for an inside-the-park home run.

He drilled the ball into center field where Gerardo Parra made a diving attempt but missed the ball with nobody around to back him up.
The ball rolled all the way to the wall before Juan Soto came over from left field to get the ball back to the infield.
D-backs third base coach Tony Perezchica waved Marte around the bases.
Marte narrowly avoided a tag by catcher Yan Gomes at the plate to complete his sprint around the bases. His quick speed put the D-backs up 4-2 to start the inning.
Marte’s home run helped to push the D-backs to a 7-5 victory over the Nationals. He went 3 for 4 on the day with two hits and an RBI.
