D-backs’ Marte leaves game with hamstring cramp during home run trot

Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte left Tuesday night’s 3-2 win over the San Francisco Giants with a right hamstring cramp.

Marte was taken out after tying the game at 1-1 with a solo shot in the top of the fifth inning.

The only problem was that the switch-hitter limped his way around the bases just after rounding first base.

Ketel ties it.

Tim Locastro would come on to replace Marte.

Should Marte have to see time on the injured list, it would be a huge blow to the team’s playoff chances.

The D-backs now post a 67-66 record, just four games out of a wild card spot with 29 games left to play.

Another injury to a crucial player would be catastrophic for Arizona, as manager Torey Lovullo told Burns & Gambo prior to Tuesday’s game that David Peralta would miss the remainder of the season to have shoulder surgery.
