Phoenix Rising FC striker Adam Jahn was named to Week 26’s USL Championship Team of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Captain Solomon Asante was also named as honorable mention.

This marks the fourth time Jahn has been recognized by the league and the 10th time Asante has received team of the week honors.

Jahn scored three goals over the two-game road trip in Week 26 that saw Phoenix become the first team in USL Championship to clinch a playoff spot.

The No. 9 had a brace in the 4-2 come-from-behind victory over Tacoma Defiance, including the match-winner in the 83rd minute.

Jahn’s third goal of the week came in Saturday’s 3-0 win against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, bringing his tally to 14 on the 2019 campaign (tied for third-most in USL). His 14 goals are also tied for the second-most in the Western Conference and only trail Asante’s league-best 20 goals.

Rising’s captain combined for two goals and two assists over the two matches to bring his combined goal and assist tally to 34 on the year, which breaks the previous USL Championship record of 33.

Asante’s 20th goal also breaks the club record for the most goals scored in a single season. The team’s all-time scoring leader is now just five goals away from tying the USL record for goals scored in a single season (25).

Both of Asante’s assists culminated in a Jahn goal, bringing the Ghanaian’s assist tally to 14 on the year (most in USL). The 14 assists are also just two short of tying the league’s all-time record for assists in a season (16).

Asante has eight games remaining in his quest to become the first player to go 20-20 (goals-assists) in a solo campaign.

Phoenix Rising returns to action on Saturday to host 10th-place San Antonio FC at Casino Arizona Field.

The two sides drew 3-3 in their last matchup all the way back on March 9, the very first week of the season. Phoenix was able to come back from a goal down three times on the night, including Jason Johnson’s equalizer at the death.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and will be audio-streamed on ArizonaSports.com.
