Three former Arizona Cardinals made the list of modern era semifinalists who could earn inductions into the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2020 class.

Defensive end Simeon Rice, running back Edgerrin James and offensive guard Alan Faneca are all candidates for induction.

This year is the second opportunity for Rice to be inducted. It’s the fifth semifinalist nod for Faneca and sixth for James.

Rice was the only of the trio who was drafted by Arizona. He went third overall in the 1996 draft and spent five years (1996-2000) with the Cardinals. Rice played in 79 games with Arizona, racking up 220 tackles, 51.5 sacks and nine forced fumbles with an interception during that span.

James played for the Cardinals from 2006-08 after a long career with the Indianapolis Colts.

He rushed for more than 1,000 yards in his first two seasons with Arizona. After three years in red and white, he totaled 2,895 rushing yards and 506 receiving yards with 16 rushing scores.

Faneca, a nine-time Pro Bowler, spent his last NFL campaign with the Cardinals, starting all 16 games in his age 34 season.

Also on the list of 24 semfinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction class is ASU product Darren Woodson, a five-time Pro Bowl safety who played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1992-2004.
