Schefter: Manning prefers AFC team

Strike one on the Arizona Cardinals.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted the latest on the
Peyton Manning sweepstakes Thursday morning, and it
wasn’t
necessarily good news for Cardinal fans.
Peyton
Manning prefers to stay in the AFC but is open to playing
in
the NFC.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 8,
2012
Schefter’s tweet is on the same wavelength as NFL Network
analyst Marshall Faulk’s Wednesday proclamation via
Rich Eisen’s Twitter feed.
Marshall Faulk just said there’s no chance of Peyton
goes to the NFC because the family doesn’t want to blow
chance of a Manning Super Bowl.— Rich Eisen
(@richeisen) March 7,
2012
Schefter also reported that 12 teams reached out to
Manning Wednesday after the 14-year veteran was released
by the Indianapolis Colts. The Cardinals were among the
12, and Jason LaCanfora
of the NFL Network also named Seattle, Washington,
Denver and Miami as teams that reached out to Manning’s
representation.
LaCanfora also expects Kansas City to jump into the fray.
