The Arizona Diamondbacks assigned seven players to minor league camp on Monday, marking the first time this spring training that the team reduced its roster.

Pitchers Jeremy Beasley, Josh Green, Mark Leiter Jr. and Matt Peacock, catcher Dominic Miroglio and infielders Drew Ellis and Geraldo Perdomo were assigned to minor league camp.

There are 60 players left in the D-backs’ major league spring training camp.

Beasley, 24, came to the Diamondbacks in a trade that sent Matt Andriese to the Los Angeles Angels this offseason. The right-hander played in Double-A and Triple-A last year, owning a 4.49 ERA between the two leagues. Most of his appearances were in Double-A. He was a 30th-round pick in 2017 and played college baseball at Clemson.

He was the D-backs’ 25th-best prospect in 2019, according to MLB Pipeline.

Green is a righty who played at Southeastern Louisiana and has since reached Double-A in the D-backs’ organization since being a 14th-round pick in 2018. He is 24 years old and had a 2.71 ERA between Class A-Advanced and Double-A last season. He’s the No. 19 prospect in Arizona’s system.

Leiter Jr. was with the Blue Jays organization in 2018 but did not make a single appearance all season as he was on the injured list because of Tommy John surgery. In 2018, he appeared in 20 major league games between the Phillies and the Blue Jays, posting a 7.71 ERA, but had a 3.24 ERA in 23 outings in the minor leagues.

Leiter is the son of Mark Leiter and nephew of Al Leiter, both former MLB pitchers. His cousin, Jack Leiter, is a pitcher for Vanderbilt.

Peacock was drafted by the D-backs in 2017 and last year had a solid 2.97 ERA in Double-A. He’s a 26-year-old right-hander and went to South Alabama.

Miroglio is a 24-year-old shortstop who hit .233 in Double-A Jackson in 2019. He was a 20th-round pick by the D-backs in 2017.

Perdomo is a 20-year-old switch-hitting shortstop who played in Single-A and Class-A Advanced last year, hitting .275 between the two leagues with 26 stolen bases and a .397 on-base percentage. He is the D-backs’ No. 7 prospect.

Ellis hit .238 in Double-A Jackson last year. He was a second-round pick out of Louisville in 2017 and is 24 years old.
