There aren’t many opportunities that life presents you to get the revenge you so desperately crave.

That, of course, is a dramatic over-exaggeration of the actual stakes on Friday when Mikal Bridges controlled the Phoenix Suns on NBA2K20 against the Philadelphia 76ers, the team that traded him during the 2018 NBA Draft.

Still, Bridges got a 75-64 win over his pal and 76ers rookie wing Matisse Thybulle.

Bridges did what Ty Jerome and Frank Kaminsky did not in prior playthroughs of the Suns’ streaming of the rest of the regular season: putting himself in the starting lineup.

He took out Dario Saric for his virtual self, and to be fair to Bridges, he has been starting for most of the back-half of the 2019-20 season.

The move paid off. Bridges shot 7-of-11 with himself, and wouldn’t you know it, his defensive talents translate.

Bridges was clearly the more in-control 2K player.

He ran successful pick-and-roll offense regularly while Thybulle continued to pull up for jumpers instead of layups and was wildly throwing the ball out of bounds.

Bridges finished with 15 points, and the extra push forward for him was unlocking the big fella.

Deandre Ayton had a team-high 23 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks.

On the other end, Ben Simmons scored 23 points for the 76ers, but the box score Bridges made sure to show the fans watching at home was the 13 minutes logged by Thybulle: zero points, zero rebounds, three assists, zero steals, zero blocks and two turnovers.

Demoralizing.
