It never felt like we were going to get there, but baseball is back.
After weeks of negotiations between Major League Baseball and its players union that never seemed to make any progress, the league will begin its plan to return for a 2020 season.
That, of course, took something that commissioner Rob Manfred had within an agreement from March 26 that let him implement a short season if necessary, and it turned out to be just that.
In what had to be a stressful time for players who wanted to get back to action, many took to social media to celebrate.
That includes Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Carson Kelly, who took a dip in the pool.

Spring training is set to begin on July 1, with teams preparing for a 60-game season. The last hurdle left was the league getting players to sign off on health and safety protocols, which got done Tuesday evening.
