Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kole Calhoun is back at the team’s summer camp at Chase Field following his previous coronavirus positive test result.
The team revealed his arrival via Twitter just days after his manager, Torey Lovullo, announced that Calhoun was absent because of a positive test. He was asymptomatic and feeling well, Lovullo said Monday.
Lovullo didn’t say when Calhoun had tested positive, but players were required to go through testing prior to their arrival at camp.
The outfielder is one of multiple members of the Diamondbacks organization to test positive. At least five players on the 60-player pool — Calhoun, Seth Beer, Junior Guerra, Silvino Bracho and one other unidentified individual — have tested positive for the coronavirus so far.
Guerra returned to the team on Wednesday.
Calhoun, 32, is from Arizona originally and is entering his first season with the Diamondbacks organization. Last season, Calhoun hit .232 with 33 home runs and 74 RBIs.
