After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s
time to go Inside the Box for April 8, 2011: Diamondbacks 13, Reds 2

In the Diamondbacks home opener they pitched great, well Ian Kennedy did, and hit the ball just as well.

The Good:

There was lots of good for the Diamondbacks in their 13-2 win over the Reds.

Ian Kennedy’s pitching line read, 8IP, 6H, ER, 9K, BB.

The Diamondbacks hit three home runs and had 13 hits altogether. The first seven hitters in the order got a hit and the eighth batter, Melvin Mora, got in on the action with a sacrifice fly.

The Bad:

Aaron Heilman came out of the bullpen to close it out in the ninth inning and gave up two walks and a homerun before finishing off the game.

The Funky:

Miguel Montero is killing the baseball through six games. He is now hitting .545 with 12 hits in 22 at-bats. He has two home runs and three doubles.
