Kirk Gibson selected to help coach All-Stars

PHOENIX — Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson was selected to help San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy coach in the MLB All-Star game, which is to take place later this summer in Arizona.
Gibson is the only Most Valuable Player in baseball history who did not play in the game during his career.
Gibson will be joined on Bochy’s staff by Nationals boss Jim Riggleman, as well as Giants coaches Tim Flannery, Mark Gardner, Roberto Kelly, Hensley Meulens, Dave Righetti and Ron Wotus.
D-backs trainer Ken Crenshaw will also be there, along with Brewers assistant athletic trainer Dan Wright.
The American League squad will be managed by Rangers skipper Ron Washington.
The 82nd MLB All-Star Game will be played Tuesday, July 12th at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.
