Jason Isringhausen: Still in the league, a D-backs target

The Arizona Diamondbacks’ search for bullpen help may take them to New York, where a name most haven’t heard for a while (and even more probably can’t spell) could be a player the D-backs are interested in.
Jason Isringhausen, the 38-year-old reliever, is a D-backs target, according to Sports 620 KTAR’s John Gambadoro.
Isringhausen, who has closed in the past but battled with injuries the last few years, has pitched in 35 games for the Mets while sporting a 3.14 ERA. He’d likely slide into a seventh inning role with the D-backs.
While he may not be the most attractive option, Isringhausen could present a good value acquisition for a team that is unwilling to part with a top prospect in order to add an extra arm in the ‘pen.
